DARE Project First Community of Practice Meeting

On 24 March 2026, the DARE Project organised a dedicated meeting with its Communities of Practice to validate the first set of user requirements for the future DARE Dashboard.

The session brought together representatives from the different Communities of Practice to discuss how the dashboard can best support both the UCPM and Incident Management components. Following an introductory plenary session, participants worked in five breakout groups, each focusing on the specific needs and operational realities of its respective Community of Practice.

The discussions focused on validating the requirements identified in Deliverable D2.1 and collecting direct feedback from future users of the platform. Participants examined how the dashboard could support operational coordination, information sharing and decision-making during emergencies.

Several common priorities emerged from the exchanges, including:

  • stronger situational awareness tools;
  • improved coordination of response activities and deployed resources;
  • better communication between emergency services, authorities, volunteers and citizens;
  • integration of field information, incident logs and operational updates;
  • user-friendly functionalities tailored to different categories of users.

The meeting also explored the needs of the dashboard’s future user groups, including Incident Commanders, Operations Managers, Information Managers, national authorities, volunteers and service providers.

The session concluded with presentations from each Community of Practice, summarising the main recommendations and highlighting the next steps for the further development of the DARE Dashboard.

The DARE consortium would like to thank all participants for their valuable contributions and continued engagement. Their expertise is essential to ensuring that the DARE Dashboard becomes a practical, inclusive and user-centred tool for disaster and emergency management.
