DARE Project Coordinator Claudia Berchtold will present the project’s latest study on post-flood recovery and the “Building Back Better” approach at the upcoming JCAR ATRACE Workshop, Post-Flood Recovery and Building Back Better in Europe.
The presentation will highlight how post-flood recovery measures can move beyond restoring pre-disaster conditions and instead support more resilient, sustainable and future-oriented development pathways. Particular attention will be given to the opportunities for strengthening the integration of “Building Back Better” principles within the Cohesion Policy Fund framework.
The discussion will explore the practical application of these approaches across Europe and their potential to support more resilient and sustainable recovery measures in regions affected by flooding.
The workshop will bring together experts, policymakers and practitioners to exchange experiences and identify pathways for improving post-flood recovery policies and instruments at European level.
