May 6-7th, DARE project partner VOST Portugal participated as Observers in the recent EU MODEX EUCPT-TAST Portugal 2026 exercise in Viseu.
During the exercise, the team gathered valuable operational insights on interoperability, communication workflows, field coordination, and cross border emergency response procedures. These observations will support the development of DARE’s future tools and methodologies aimed at strengthening has large scale emergency response capabilities across Europe.
Exercises such as MODEX provide an important opportunity to better understand how teams, command structures, and operational procedures interact in complex scenarios, helping to bridge the gap between operational reality and innovation.
The knowledge and experience gained will contribute to DARE’s ongoing work on interoperability, situational awareness, information sharing, and citizen engagement for more resilient European Emergency Response systems.
